Responsibilities:
Our client’s company is looking for an exceptional DATA ENGINEER who is passionate about data and insights of large data set. Strong business acumen with strategic thinking capability. Also, you will work closely with Data Scientist, Machine Engineer, Business Analysts and other stakeholders across the company.
- Conduct meetings with users to understand the data requirements and perform database design based on data understanding and requirements with consideration for performance
- Work with business domain experts, data scientists, and application developers to identify data that is relevant for analysis
- Maintain data dictionary, relationship, and its interpretation
- Select and integrate appropriate technology and framework to develop data solutions for batch processing, near real-time streaming, as well as API publishing
- Own end-to-end data pipeline process framework of Data Lake from Data Source to Data Mart to Cloud as well as data exchange with peripheral systems, while ensuring alignment to the Company’s policies and PDPA
- Design and develop BI solutions
- Analyze problem and find resolution, as well as work closely with administrators to monitor performance and advise any necessary infrastructure changes
- Hands-on development mentality, with a willingness to troubleshoot and solve complex problems
- Keep abreast of new developments in the big data ecosystem, learn new data related technologies, and able to recommend the application of new technology where appropriate
- Ability to effectively work independently and handle multiple assignments concurrently

Requirements
- Bachelor's / Master degree in Computer Engineer, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields
- 2-5 years of experience in database design, data integration, data pipeline development, big data, or business intelligence applications in a competitive service industry preferably in banking, financial services, or telecom
- Working knowledge of DB2, Hadoop, Data Virtualization, Qlikview/Qliksense is an advantage
- In-depth understanding of data engineering concepts, principles, and best practices.
- Proficient in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).
- Experience with data modeling, database design, and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with data integration techniques and tools (e.g., ETL/ELT processes, data pipelines, data warehousing).
- Experience with cloud platforms and services (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) for data storage and processing.
- Understanding of data security and privacy principles, including compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA).
