New Energy Nexus (www.newenergynexus.com) is an international organization that supports clean energy entrepreneurs with funds, business acceleration, and access to networks. We operate programs in the USA, China, India, Uganda, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam and the Philippines. New Energy Nexus launched its Vietnam program in April 2019.
In Vietnam, New Energy Nexus is building an ecosystem of clean energy entrepreneurs working on solutions to address the regional energy transition and climate change. We support energy entrepreneurs to create new innovative energy companies that will help to build the nation’s clean energy economy.
We are looking for a Program and Impact Manager based in Ho Chi Minh City to support our activities. The position will support the General Director and other team members in ensuring the successful implementation of any New Energy Nexus Vietnam's ecosystem building project/activities.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Program Design amp; Implementation
- Plan, design and implementation entrepreneur-supporting programs and activities
- Organize events, workshops, trainings, boot-camps on various clean energy amp; innovation topics
- Manage database of key contacts, liaise with our network of energy professionals, mentors, partners, and startups for their active engagement in the program
- Research amp; identify relevant service providers for activities, including trainers, facilitators, business advisors, mentors etc.
- Undertake other tasks given by General Director
Impact amp; JEDI management
- Oversee the organizational Monitoring and Evaluating activities including Data and Partner Management
- Design, recommend impact frameworks (TOC, Indicators, problem trees, etc.)
- Coordinate and liaison with global Impact guild and JEDI board on Vietnam’s chapter
Fundraising amp; Partnership Activities
- Research on potential funders in country to understand their goals amp; objectives (Energy companies, foundations, government agencies), identify interested organizations and craft customized proposals
- Participate in industry events and initiate meetings with key market stakeholders
- Develop a network of energy professionals, mentors, program participants and partners; manage the contact database
- Stay up-to-date on any relevant clean energy events and news
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:
- Professional fluency in Vietnamese and English is vital
- Bachelor's degree in energy or business-related fields, with relevant energy sector experience
- Experience in the startup community, including accelerators, investors and entrepreneurship service providers
- Passion for clean energy startups and innovation
- Key account management and project management experience
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Leadership skills - Experience with leading a project or a team, with little support needed
- Ability to travel between project locations within Vietnam
Preferred Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years experience, in business development in the renewable energy sector
- Strategic outlook and deep understanding of the energy transition in Vietnam
- Existing network of contacts at key energy companies and related government entities
- Management consulting experience
- Master’s degree in energy or business-related fields
- Highly resourceful person with the ability to come up with new ideas and concepts to support our mission in Vietnam
